Parents need to know that this karate kid remake is a faithful adaptation of the original but because the central character is 12 instead of 16 the language and romance is appropriately scaled back even though the violence is a bit more startling. Most karate dojos i know take kids starting around age 4 6. I myself started at the age of 7 but have seen a lot of kids start much y.
